'the holding breath remixes' revisits our debut album, 'the holding breath', which was released in 2018.

Featuring remixes by Brother Laurie (from Squid, available on Bandcamp only), Vell, two Norwich-based friends (musician Morris Masuda and sound artist Oliver Payne), plus remixes by both members of Sylvia & I, the album spans immersive textures and downtempo dance floor numbers.

Since releasing the original cassette album, Sylvia & I have performed around the UK, including at a number of improv nights (The Klinker, Mopomoso and more...) and at St. Paul's Sessions (London).

Individually they continue to work with renowned musicians such as trombonist Annie Whitehead, woodwinds improviser Clive Bell and others. As a duo collaboration the last year has seen them support ECM artist Kit Downes, in a concert supporting Norwich-based charity Musical Keys.

'the holding breath remixes' transforms their ethereal left-field jazz into a set of new dance-floor centric rhythms. It is available on cassette and download, with Brother Laurie's remix exclusive to Bandcamp.
