A new, typically ethereal offering from Sylvia & I, recorded at the University of Surrey as part of the Intraspect series curated by improviser Bill Thompson.

Sylvia Hallett is a multi-instrumentalist who has worked with improvisers, theatre and dance companies and composed music for BBC Radio drama since the 1970's. She has toured internationally with bands such as Laxula, and recently with the Heliocentrics.

She has released several solo albums, some on the Emanem label, most recently on Bandcamp, the Takuroku label, and scatter archive label. The main focus of her work is using instruments (violin etc) and objects (bicycle wheel/tree branches/saw) alongside simple electronic effects.

Chris Dowding is a trumpeter, composer and workshop leader based in Norwich.

He has recently been commissioned by Durham Brass Festival (for a piece for solo brass instrument with looping app on mobile phone), and Norfolk and Norwich Festival (with the octet holding hands, co-led with saxophonist Rob Milne).

Recent explorations include the 'Homecoming' project with Michelle Brace and Laure Van Minden, which has evolved from an outdoor installation at Raveningham Sculpture Trail to an upcoming performance with visuals at EFG London Jazz Festival (see links below). He has also just toured the UK with ALATI, performing settings of poems by Alice Oswald.
